The CDFI Technical Assistance (TA) Program is designed to enhance the capacity of certified and emerging Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) to serve low-income and underserved communities. Emerging CDFIs must have made at least one loan in the prior fiscal year to be eligible to apply for certification. Applicants do not have to be certified to be eligible, funds can be used to help get certified. Here are key details:
• Maximum Grant Amount: Up to $125,000
• Eligible Uses of Funds:
• Purchasing equipment
• Hiring consulting or contracting services
• Paying salaries and benefits
• Training staff or board members
The TA awards are integral to the organizational sustainability and success of CDFIs. These funds help CDFIs build their capacity to better serve their communities, ensuring they can effectively manage and expand their financial products and services.
Additionally, the CDFI Program administers supplemental funding opportunities such as the Persistent Poverty Counties-Financial Assistance (PPC-FA), Disability Funds-Financial Assistance (DF-FA), and Healthy Food Financing Initiative-Financial Assistance (HFFI-FA) awards. These initiatives further support the mission of CDFIs in addressing economic distress and expanding economic opportunities through collaboration and partnerships.
